V3Re Changing HelloMoto Screen
From Guides
The Inner Bootscreen
Death to the HelloMoto Wake-up Screen
By: jklong03 (modmymoto.com member)
After considerable experimentation, I have finally succeeded in replacing the HelloMoto powerup screen with any image you choose!
Here are the steps I took:
Programs needed:
Modifications to above Program files needed:
1.
In Flash&Backup, under \Program Files\Motorola Tools\Flash&Backup3\Profiles (or wherever you installed the program), modify the R3442_V3_06.prof file (using notepad) and add the following CG8 statement:
[FB3 Profile]
ID=R3442_V3_06
Model=Motorola V3re (V3 06)
UseLdr=1
RamDld=V3_06 (0C90).ldr
Addr=03FC8000
Jump=03FC8010
[Code Groups];BOOT=10000000-1000FFFF;PDS=10010000-1001FFFF
CG1=10160000-10EBF7FF
CG2=11280000-11F3FFFF
CG3=10100000-1015FFFF
CG4=11100000-1127FFFF
CG7=11F80000-11FBFFFF
CG8=10EC0000-10EDFFFF (this line must be added!!)
CG15=10F00000-110FFFFF
CG18=10EBF800-10EBFFFF
2.
In your MotoBootScrnReplL9 folder, modify the offset.ini file and add the last two lines so it looks like this:
[L9 R452J...22.04R]
HelloMoto1=0000000001
[L7 R4513...B7.DCR]
HelloMoto=000055BBC9
Welcome=0000547A61
[L7e R452D...01.0A]
HelloMoto=000022FEBB
VodaFone=000021D03B
[V3Re R3442A] (add this line)
HelloMoto=0000000001 (add this line)
3.
Prepare your boot image you want to use, MUST have the following properties:
a) saved in .jpg formatb) sized to exactly 176x220 pixels. (I used simple little, Windows XP "Paint" program (I can't promise other picture editors will work since I didn't try them)
Now, you are ready to do the swap!!
Step One;Start F&B3, select the "V3e (V3 06)" profile, SMG (Binary Files) for the Save Format, and go to the “Read data” page and make sure it look like this:

Make the backup and note the time_stamp when you made it!
Step Two:Start MotoBootScrn Replacer. Load the CG8.smg file you just created using F&B3 (should be in the last backup folder F&B3 created based on the time you did the backup).

Step Three:Then select the Last Profile option at the bottom, (V3442A V3Re) Your screen should look like this with the HelloMoto screen:

Step Four:Select and load your custom image (remember, 176x220 .jpg only!) Your screen will look like this:

Step Five:"Save Flash" button
Step Six:Back to F&B3, select "Write Data" and restore the new (modified CG8) version of the CG8. The BootScrn replacer program will have overwritten your original saved copy of the CG8 code with the newly modified version with your Boot image in it. So when you restore your CG8, you will actually be restoring it with your newly modified version!!

Voila!! You should have a new customized startup boot screen!!

The Outer Bootscreen
by Danation

Credits:I'd like to thank jklong03 for the guide above, which helped me understand how the process works. Then to dev.meena, who created an excellent guide that explained how to use the Samsung Flash Imager (to find the outer bootscreen.) Finally, a big thanks to OCM770, who helped me fix my V3re F&B profile (which I somehow screwed up) and gave me some great advice for this mod.
I actually use a different version of the bootscreen replacer. I use Version 4.1.
1.
Ok, first, let's edit the F&B profile again.
Change this:
CG8=10EC0000-10EDFFFF
To this:
CG8=10EC0000-10EDFFFF
CG9=10EE0000-10EFFFFF
2.
Second, let's edit the offset.ini file for the BootScreenReplacer, again.
Change this:
[V3Re R3442A]
HelloMoto=0000000001
To this:
[V3Re R3442A]
HelloMoto=0000000001
Outer=014DFF
3.
Make a backup of CG9 in SMG format.
4.
Open the CG9 in bootscreen replacer (you'll have to make the file type *.* so that it can find .smg files.) Next, select 128 X 128 (this is important.) Then choose the V3re profile. Finally, select "Outer."
It will look like this:
5.
Next, click "Load from file." Then select the new outer screen. It must be 96X80 pixels in either jpg or bmp format.
It will look something like this:
6.
Click "Save flash." It should say "Ok!"
7.
Flash the CG9 to your phone.
After the flash has finished and booted up your phone, manually shut down your phone and restart it. If you did part 1 first, you should have cool custom inner AND outer bootscreen images. Enjoy!
Guarantee and Disclaimer:I have used all of the methods and modifications listed above, and my guarantee is that they work on my phoneexactly how I described. It is my belief that the above modifications will work on any Motorola RAZR v3re, but I cannot guarantee that they will work on all phones, even phones of the previously mentioned model. I cannot take any responsibility for any damage caused by phone modification, even if it is by my instruction. Modify your phone at your own risk. Please make sure to back up your phone and do careful research before making any modifications.
